Will Scroggins has been a financial planner for over eleven years and has served with SageSpring Wealth Partners since 2015. Soon after joining SageSpring, he was asked to spearhead the Birmingham branch in 2016, with goals to provide comprehensive holistic financial planning to those living in the greater Birmingham area. Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, Riley Nelsen found himself in Birmingham, Alabama, when he attended Samford University, majoring in finance. Knowing he wanted to become a financial planner, Riley came to SageSpring Wealth Partners for a college internship. He knew instantly upon starting his internship that this was the company where he wanted to spend the rest of his career.

Riley specializes in creating a personal planning experience for each client, with an emphasis on comprehensive financial planning, tax and estate planning, and excellent customer service. He is first and foremost committed to putting his clients first and serving them diligently.

When he’s not working with clients, Riley can be found spending his time with his wife, Gigi Nelsen, and their friends. He also enjoys spending time outdoors from fishing to playing golf.

A Tuscaloosa native, Nathan graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Finance in 2007. After graduating, Nathan worked in property management for three years while also working as the worship director for a local church, New Beginning Family Worship Center. In 2011, Nathan transitioned into full time real estate sales. He established himself as one of Tuscaloosa’s top young Realtors when he was awarded the Tuscaloosa Association of the Realtors “Rookie of the Year” in 2011. In his first-year full time in the business, Nathan sold 33 units, and nearly 3.5 million dollars in real estate closed volume.

In October 2015, Nathan partnered with a group of influential local Tuscaloosa Realtors to launch a Keller Williams Realty franchise in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Nathan stepped away from his real estate sales business and took on the role of Team Leader/CEO for the new Keller Williams franchise. Responsible for the company’s growth, productivity, and profitability, Nathan helped grow the company from 40 to 100 real estate agents in less than three years. Keller Williams Tuscaloosa quickly became number one real estate company in the Tuscaloosa area in closed transactions, closed volume, and agent count, gaining 33% of market in 2021. 

During his time at Keller Williams, Nathan enjoyed coaching and consulting real estate agents in areas of their businesses, finances, and wealth building. As CEO, Nathan’s passion for investing in the growth of others helped drive the company to enormous success. In 2020, Keller Williams Tuscaloosa was ranked by Real Trends as the #470 real estate office in the nation in closed units out of over 100,000 real estate offices nationwide. Keller Williams Tuscaloosa was also ranked by Swanepoel Mega 1000 as the #6 real estate brokerage office in the State of Alabama in closed units in 2019.

With his finance background, one of Nathan’s passions has always been to help support and educate people in the areas of personal finances and wealth management. In 2022, Nathan joined forces with the Will Scroggins Wealth Team and SageSpring Wealth Partners as a financial advisor. Nathan is excited to continue to use his business, consulting, and leadership experience to help his clients thrive in the area of their personal finances.

In 2014, Nathan received one of the greatest gifts of his life when he married Susan Dendy. Nathan enjoys spending time with his wife, Susan, and his three daughters, Livi Joy, Alley, and Louise. His hobbies include reading, golf, running, water skiing, snowboarding, and playing the piano. Nathan has completed two marathons and has a passion for travel and adventure. Nathan and his family are active members of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Tuscaloosa, AL.

Will has always had a deep desire to help people. Experiencing firsthand how difficult, yet rewarding, it is to help clients build a financial foundation from the ground up, Will is passionate about assisting people who are ready to take control of their financial plan. He understands where they are coming from and has the tools and expertise to help them. Will works with people from all walks of life, and has the ability to help meet his clients exactly where they are in creating a financial plan that is tailored to their personal situation and comfort.

As the son of a pastor and sibling to four, Will learned from a young age the value of listening. He sits with his clients and listens to their needs and dreams for the future. He works with them to create a plan that strives to accomplish their goals while maintaining their current needs. As evidence of his commitment to excellence, Will fulfilled the certification and renewal requirements to hold the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation.

Will has deep roots in both the Homewood/Birmingham area and in finance. Will graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Business and a major in Finance. He then worked several years for Cadence Bank here in Birmingham, before joining SageSpring Wealth Partners and becoming a Senior Executive Vice President. Not only has Will’s business grown, but so has his family. Will married Caroline Scroggins in 2019 and has since welcomed two children, Lucy and Frank, into the world.

Jeff Dobyns is President and Founder of SageSpring Wealth Partners. Passionate about serving his clients, he strives to truly get to know them, understand their goals, and provide them with financial confidence before developing and executing ongoing, strategic financial plans. 

In order to meet the highest standards of professionalism and ethics in the industry, Jeff is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, a Chartered Life Underwriter, a Chartered Financial Consultant, and a participant of the Dave Ramsey SmartVestor referral service program.

Jeff has held executive positions with financial planning firms for more than two decades. He served as VP of Investments of Lykins Financial Group CPAs before founding SageSpring in 2002. Jeff has been recognized for his unwavering commitment to his clients, and as a leader among Raymond James financial advisors, earning membership in Raymond James Chairman’s Council every year since 2008.

Jeff devotes considerable time and resources to a number of causes. He serves as Chairman of the Board of Men of Valor, a prison ministry and mentoring program. He is on the advisory board of The Signatry of Middle Tennessee, which works with families to increase their charitable giving to their favorite causes, as well as the advisory board for Halftime Institute of Nashville, an organization that coaches marketplace leaders to discern and engage in their life purpose. Jeff also serves on the board of Send Musicians to Prison, which shares hope, healing and restoration with the imprisoned through musicians & artists. He is a past board member of Porter’s Call, a Nashville charity that provides free counseling for musicians and their families, and the Martha O’Bryan Center, which empowers those in poverty to transform their lives through work, education, employment, and fellowship.

Jeff and his wife, Amy, are grateful to be raising their four children, Gracyn, Hunter, and twins Tanner and Logan at Christ Presbyterian Academy. Jeff enjoys being outdoors with his family- boating, hiking, skiing, hunting and fishing.
