For almost a decade, Lucas has been refining his craft as a financial planner. His career began as an intern with Edward Jones in Nashville. He then dove deeper into the field by working for VALIC Financial Advisors out of Brentwood, where he worked specifically on large retirement plans. As Lucas had now seen firsthand the pros and cons to working for large firms, his desire to work in a more intimate atmosphere took hold. Southwestern Investment Group gave Lucas the platform he had been searching for. As an independent practice, Southwestern advisors are able lead clients down the financial path which best suits their individual needs. This comprehensive approach to financial planning is what drew Lucas to making Southwestern Investment Group his permanent home.
Lucas began his higher education at Murray State University, majoring in business administration. He then went on to pursue his master’s degree in personal financial planning from The University of Alabama. Lucas continued his professional education by receiving his series 7, series 66, life, health, and insurance licenses. He is a Certified Investment Management Consultant through Raymond James Institute of Management Consulting, and also holds a certificate from Belmont University’s Executive Education Program for Financial Planning.
Lucas resides in Brentwood along with his wife Kayla and their three children. He is an avid tennis player and exercise enthusiast! As a family, they attend Franklin First United Methodist Church and enjoy volunteering in the church garden, a place where Lucas feels most at home as he was raised on a tobacco farm in rural Christian County, KY.
The Investment Management Consultant designation is awarded to those who complete the Raymond James Institute Management Consulting Program.
Taylor received his Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Tennessee. After graduating, he moved to Nashville to begin his career.
As a mentee in the Mentorship Program at Southwestern Investment Group, his responsibilities are to aid his mentor, while learning how to best support a client’s needs. He is learning the basics of comprehensive financial planning and how to best provide value for the relationships he will one day build. He also helps prepare for and observes meetings in order to pick up skills that will help him serve his clients to the highest degree.
When he arrived in Nashville, Taylor began as a Southwestern Investment Group client because of his belief in their core values and how they treated people. Through this working relationship, he saw how great of a place Southwestern Investment Group really was because of the company’s approach to serving others. Taylor then began pursuing a career to serve people through financial planning and knew this was where he needed to be.
Taylor loves how the passion he sees within his colleagues at Southwestern Investment Group that pushes everyone to always be learning and putting relationships first. In his time here, Taylor has found that everyone has an open door policy and is willing to help at any time.
In his spare time, Taylor loves to be with friends and family and always tries to stay active. He enjoys cooking (or trying to) and throwing cookouts with his friends.
